L-Series mortise locks

	L-Series mortise locks are engineered to meet or exceed commercial and institutional standards in an extensive selection of lock functions and decorative finishes. An expansive variety of lever and knob designs use a common, non-handed lock case, providing unsurpassed versatility and security in offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, and commercial buildings, as well as finer residences.
Equipped with conventional cylinders and sectional trim, the L-Series extra heavy duty mortise lock provides ANSI 156.13, Grade 2 security to enhance its existing Grade 1 operational requirements for mortise locks with sectional and escutcheon trim. The series continues to exceed Grade 1 security requirements with concealed cylinders.    The L-Series is the best choice for any building where security, safety, product life cycle, cost, and design compatibility are prime considerations.

• Knobs and Levers:Cast/Forged Lever Designs: Forged brass, forged bronze, or cast stainless steel. 93 Lever: Extruded brass, bronze, or stainless steel. 41 and 42 Knobs: Wrought brass, bronze, or stainless steel knobs match in appearance and are equal to D-Series knobs. Mediterranean Designs: Forged brass levers match in appearance to ME-Series levers.
• Roses: A Design: 21/8" (54 mm) Diameter wrought brass, bronze, or stainless steel. B Design: 29/16" (65mm) Diameter wrought brass, bronze, or stainless steel. Mediterranean Designs: Forged brass roses match in appearance to ME-Series roses.
• Escutcheons: L escutcheons are cold forged brass or bronze and stainless steel. N escutcheons are heavy wrought reinforced brass, bronze, or stainless steel. L = 8" x 13/4" x 7/16" (203mm x 44mm x 11mm). N = 8" x 29/16" x 7/16" (203mm x 65mm x 11mm).

• Trim Combinations: Available with knob both sides, lever both sides, or knob x lever, with rose or escutcheon both sides

• Keying: 6 Pin tumbler with two nickel silver keys per lock. Stock locks are keyed 5 pin. Other keying options available from the factory include masterkeying, grandmasterkeying, construction keying, interchangeable core, and Primus® high-security cylinders.

• Spacing: Center line knob/lever to center line cylinder, 37/8" (98mm); center line knob/lever to center line turn-piece, 211/16" (68mm).

• Door Range: 13/4" (44mm) standard. 13/8" to 21/2" (35mm - 64mm) regular parts assembled to order. Over 21/2" (64mm) door ranges vary by function. N escutcheon available for 13/4" (44mm) doors standard. 2" to 23/8" (51mm - 60mm) Regular parts assembled to order. Specify door thickness and armor front required.

LEVER STYLES

L-Series locks are available for electrically locking and unlocking controls for high security and fire safety applications. They are U.L. Listed and rated for both fire and single point locking on labeled doors. Refer to the lock function pages for function availability. Available with "Request to Exit" feature when specified per XL11-807.

Disability turn (ADA) option to standard thumbturn. Can be used with any thumbturn function L-Series lock, except L9463 and L463. Specify lock per XL11-800 when ordering. Furnished with lock function L9486P, this unit is used with A or B design roses only. It requires a 13/8" (35mm) cylinder for 13/4" (44mm) doors. When ordering separately, specify finish.
